The monthly meeting ol' the Otara W onion’s Institute was hold at the home oi .Mr.-,. K. Medley, Otara, on Tuesday. Alter husiuos.s was dealt with, a Golden Thread. ‘‘.Memories ot* by-gone days in Gpotiki”, was read by .Mrs. I*. Blaek. ‘ Tiu: 1101 l Call, ‘‘Nature’s Remedy”, brought to light many simple remedies for minor ills. A feature of the afternoonayyas a cooking ‘demonstration given by members as follows:—Mrs. Jieanfoy. homomath' brea'd.- Miss Neilson, cream puffs; Mrs. James Yeung, pikelets; -Mrs. P. Blaek',': puff pastry. Competition winners were:—3 best anemones. Mrs. Bingham 1. Kiggless afternoon tea dainty; .Mrs. MoCaltion 1, Mrs. Earp 2. Hostesses for the afternoon were: 31 rs. Parkinson. Mrs. Painter. Mrs. Pi i inegar. A hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Hedlev for the use of her heme followed by tin 1 singing of the National Anthem, brought to a close a very enjoyable afternoon.
