Lid. report as lolluws on the monthly stock sale held in the Opct'ki kaleyards yesterday:— W'e had a small yarding of cattle, no sheep being yarded. Bee! cattle were keenly competed lor by local batchers, bullocks making to ID Jos and cows to 18. Yearling Jersey heifers also showed an advance on late, rates. Prices realised were:— . .. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report as follows: —' A very small yarding of all classes of stock came forward’. Contrary to the usual run of saler in Opotiki the beef pens were in the
main not used as the total entry of beef did not exceed 20 head. We quote the following prices which were obtained at the sale:—Fat cows, to ;CBi 2s (id; others, £6 loti to .17 10&; lighter, £o to Cd IDs; killable cows, .Co 15s to C l los ; store cows, 12 to 13 its; I•<;iU’r.s, lor- to 30sj medium quality fat bullocks, to .£8; 2-year steers, to £4 os; yearling 13 10s. Several good sorts of dairy cows were yarded hut competition wa.s not very strong and few \were sold. A line of 230 2aiul 4-th> wethers were passed in at ‘l4s. Rails sold at values comparable to late rates.
