In the throe weeks trcrjuent: hailstorms have wined mu millions of the onion plants that were beino raised in the Pukokohe district. flows in sheltered places have escaped, Imt in exposed positions heels have been practically demolished. One linn which sowed 120'ih. of seed in various parts of the district consid'ers it will be fortunate to obtain half the number of ’]■ u!.i it expected when the seed was cut in.
