Du J’ontet, who is shortly to he married. The gun ter pa it ol the evening was given to dancing, to music provided by Mr. aid .Mrs. Alannix. Mr. M. Hiirke was hoard to advantage in a vocal solo. Driii’y to present to Aliss Du Rontel. on helm.lt' of those present, the wide variety of beautiful and useful gifts. Air. W. V/AiMANA FAREWELL EVENING (News Correspondent). A farewell evening was held in the Waimana. Hall recently, to Air. and' Mrs. ( . Alolvor. who have left the district. The function had been arranged hy the residents of the district and the Waimana (101 l Club. All present enjoyed the evening at dancing, the music being applied by Ah s. King, and extras being contribute d by Aliss AI-. W’ooltield, and A.lr.J’niit. Air. H. W'artllaw made a most elhc ient Al.C'., and Air. Kipg acted as doorkeeper. The .Monte Carlo waltz was won by Aji-s Joan .Met onnell and partner. During the function little Monica Boynton sang most sweetly and was loudly applauded, and Aliss Again; Mitchell gave a clever exhibition of a ‘"(lipsv Dance’’. in costume and a Hap dance as an encore. Alter a. dainty supper had been served by the married ladies, Air. Fleming balled 1 on Mr. and Airs. Alc]vi rto accept a c-hecpie from all present, which showed the esteem in which the\ were held by all, and Air. N. .Macdonald on boiiall of tilt; Wmmana Cell Club presented .Mr. AI c Ivor with a novelty clock, with their he-t wishes for hi s future career. Airs. T. Wanllaw. on behalf of tin* lirami Circle ol the' Women’s institute, asked Airs. Ale Ivor to accept a small gift if oni her tellow menPieis. v\iih their best wishes, ami stated how her .services as a member would be greatIv missed. Air. and Alls. Aleivor both suitably responded. thanking all lor ..Uve 'most enjoyable evening and the j gills which were much appreciated. The singing of ‘’For they are jolly, good fellows”, and the National Anthem dosed a most pleasant evening.
