NEXT YEAR ’ S PL A N S A proposal that only four grades ot. apples should be recognised, hr marketing next season in Hawke’s Bayowing to the prospective heavy crop, was the subject- of a remit adopted at a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Fruitgrowers’ Association held in Hastings. The grades to which it is proposed, to restrict apples will he extra fam\. fancy, commercial A and commercial B: It is considered that by the adoption of such limited grades the standard of fruit offered will be raised and: much of! the poorer types eliminated. The remit will come before tiie annual conference to be held it* Hastings shortly.
