North island temperatures at 9 o’clock; yesterday morning were: Auckland 50 degrees, Tauranga 51, Opotiki 47. East Cape and Gisborne 53, Napier 42 a licit Wellington 41. Opctiki Early Lambs. An early Jamb was born on the farm of MV. S'. \V. .Brown, Baerata Bulge, on Monthly. Since then two other lambs have been born. The lambs arc the first reported to date in the Opotiki district-.

Aerodrome Inspection. A visit was paid to Opotiki on Wednesday afternoon by Group-Captain T. j\l.. AVilkes, Controller of Civil Aviation. in the course of an inspection of aerodromes. Group-Captain Wilkes, who was accompanied by SquadronLeader Gibson, aerodrome construction engineer, flew from Wellington in the Government’s AA'hitney machine. The machine called at- Napier and Gisborne. The officers stayed the night in Opctiki leaving yesterday for Tauranga.
