MONTHLY MEETING U I FRO VED STREET LIU HT.LN G The monthly meeting of the Ray of Rlentyi Electric Fewer Hoard was-held in the board’s meeting room at Opotiki on Tuesday. Fresent: -Messrs. \V. T. Burrett (chairman), Burt, Maxwell, Mitchell, Gault, Spciice and Suinner. Mr. J. D. Dicker (engineermanager), and G. A. Hathaway (secretary ) > were also in attendance. The engineer-manager submitted "itails concerning the extra charges equiredf by ~tho board for the replacng of. certain street lamps in the shopping area of Church Street with t;ie new type as at present in use at the intersecion of Elliott and Church Streets. As a result of a full discussion, the board decided to offer the Borough Council to change five lamps at an increased charge - per annum of £:i os per lamp, or 12 lamps at £3 - per lamp per annum. . The new type of lamp would improve the illumination by at least 250 per cent. The reports submitted to the board were approved.
