BROWN—FERGUSSON A pretty wedding was solemnised in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, on' Tuesday, when Jean, younger daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. HFcrgitssou, of Gisborne, was married to John Robert Brown, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Brown, of Waimana. Rev. A. O. Hampton officiated at the ceremony and Mrs. J. G. Murray presided at the organ. A solo “Just for To-day,” was sung by Miss Eleanor Murray. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. Andrew Fergusson, wonv a lovely gown of ivory panne velvet, designed with a, square neck-line-. caught at each side with silver ornaments, and with a gathered* panel in the front of the bodice. Tiny silver buttons ran from the back of the neckrline to the waistline from whence the tightly fitting skirt flared to the hem-line. The .sleeves were puffed to the elbow, fitting to. the wrist where points fell over the hands. Her veil old silk net with satin applique was held in place with a silver coronet and caught at each side with, sprays of tiny artificial arum lilies. Dainty silver shoes were just revealed, by the skirt. She wore a pearl necklet and carried a sheaf of arum lilies.

The chief bridesmaid was -Miss. Mary Fergusson. sister of the bride, who wore a charming frock of mauve taffetas, with short draped sleeve.-. The back of the frock was finished, with tiny buttons from the neck to the waistline, and a wide bow. Her fitting truck flared to a quilted) hemline. A pearl necklet and silver shoes, and long cream gloves were worn. A spray of violets in her hat: made an attractive head-dress, and. she carried a posy of. violets.

Tlie bride was also attended by MissJean Blown, sister of the bridegroom.. She chose a frock of gold taffetas, shot, with mauve, simply designed with, corded puff sleeves. The tightly fitting waist flared to a corded hemline and flowers to tone were worn at the neckline and in the hair. She wore a pearl necklet and carried a posy oi violets. Long cream gloves and gold shoes completed her outfit. The bridegroom was attended by his cousins, Mr. T. Brown as bestman, and Mr. F. Brown, as groomsman. Mrs. J.„ H. Fergusson, mother oi the biide. chose a brown model frock, relieved with touches of green ami henna. She wore a- fox fur and brown accessories, and carried a posy of mixed flowers to tone. M rs. E. J. Brown, mother cl the bridegroom, wore a navy blue costume with matching accessories, and carried a posy of violets and japotira. The reception was held in St. John s Hall, after which the guests adjourned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Murray, Waioekai Road'. Air. and Airs. J. R. Brown hirer left for an extended tour of the North Island, Airs. Brown choosing as her travelling suit, a burgundy costume with smart brown accessories.
