CAR TRAPPED IN SLIP IN WAIOEKA GORGE OCCUPANTS' NARROW ESCAPE An unpleasant experience was metwith by a party of Gisborne motorists this morning while travelling between Gisborne.' and Opotiki. The car became stuck in a slip near Oponae and while efforts were being made to remove it. further debris fell on the car. One huge rock penetrated the steel hood just behind the dlriver’s seat narrowly missing the occupant of the rear seat. Another rock fell through the side window and struck the driver. jMr. J. Bradley, on the arm. The car was badly damaged but was able to proceed to Opotiki under r its own power.
