The attention of farmers is drawn to an advertisement appearing in today’s issue concerning the collection of bobby calves. Mr. W. Stevens will start collecting on Monday, July 3. Clearing Sale. A clearing sale on behalf of Air. Charles H. IHrown. will be conducted on the farm at Waiotahi on Friday. 14th. July. Particulars are advertised in today's issue by the New. Flowering Plum. An unusual sight in the row of ornamental shrubs planted in St. John Street, is a flowering plum in full bloom. The tree is well laden with pretty pink blossom from top to bottom. and the flowering of the tree at such an unusual time has resulted in residents evincing considerable interest.

East Coast Bridges. _ / Two bridges whic-h will complete the link between Cape Runaway ap<t Opotiki. oil the Const- scenic routss are scheduled for construction .shortly. and tenders are being called for them. Bach will comprise two. spans of 40ft., and will bridge' the Waiokaha and Mangatoetoe streams, which are between the two main rivers, the Raukokore and Whangaparaoa. Arrangements are being made to bridge the last of the streams between Cape Runaway and Hicks Bay, and when ' that section is completed the road will be an all-weather route between Gisbtu'ne and Opotiki. The Maraebalca bridge has recently been completed and is now being used.
