CHILD’S TRAGIC FATE MASOXTOWX, Pa.. Dec. 23.-The death of a child; one of tour living in a- wtnciiowles.s, one-room shed in the nearby mining village of .Bessemer, drew the attention of civic and county authorities to the. plight of the Elmer Carroll family. . t Dr. A. E. Peters attributed the death cl: seven-year-old John Carroll t to “improper food and care.’ Deputy Coroner David Honsaekor ' declared the other children, Elmer. J%j mi., 12. Harry, 10, andl .Donald, -eight, were in poor health. l ire father. a relief worker, a housekeeper and tlic four children were living in the lint furnished only with cno bed. a small cooking stove and an oii lamp Dr. Peters said.
