OPOTIKI HUNT CLUB

FIRST MEET OF SEASON KENNELS OPENED Tlie Oportiki Hunt Club’s kennel.s were officially opened on Wednesday by the club’s patron, All-. -J. H. Reid, who addressed a large gathering. There were 45 followers present, which shows a large increase over last year’s gathering, and promises a very successful season. After the opening of the kennels, the party proceeded to the Woodlands homestead through the properties' of Messrs. Thorne, Jephson, Dodgson, Vanstone, Beattie and Pilkingtcn. At! Messrs. Mulliern’s homestead, the Master, Air. O. Clark, thanked the property owners for allowing the club the use of their properties. A dainty afternoon tea. was served. Croat interest was taken by a large number of spectators in . cars, who watched the jumping at the homestead. The roadside was lined for •some distance with the cars of interested spectators.
