There will be a practice at 7 p.m. to-morro.v. SATURDAY’S SENIOR MATCH The senior match -played on Saturday between O.M.P. and Te Huia was too one-sided to> he of much interest tr. spectators, the final score being O. ALP. 37 to Te Huia’s 3. The latter secured their only points near the end of the game. The 0.A1.P. team has been very fortunate to> secure the services of a heavy and fast wing threequarter from the East Coast- district, and judging on this player’s performance lie should have no trouble in securing a place in the representatives. Had the Te Huia players tackled solidly their opponents’ score, would have been much lower. It was the usual thing for a player to be only ngntiy tackled, the maii with the ball nsua'iy getting awayj without i any difficulty. The losers will have to make sure ot their tackles in future games if they intend to do any good.. As usual at the beginning of the season, players concentrated on high taekle.s. At the same time referees in future should see that players, when tackled, fairiy chop the hail in reasonable time, instead of hanging on to the last gasp It was noticeable that players when brought down got lip with the hall and ran cn without playing it with their feet. A noticeable absentee in the O.M.P. team, was AlcLaughlan, who showed promise of being one of the best forwards in an Opotiki team for many years. This player is now with the Kaukolcore. team and should prove to' be a, decided! acquisition to the Apamii senior representative team.
