RUBBER TYRES ON CARTS BOMBAY, March 20.—1 n order to preserve its roads, India has ordered that, all carts must be fitted with pneumatic tyres. .Lt now favours goods hauled on rubber and has induced many municipalities to do likewise. The move was prompted by the excessive wear and tear and serious damage caused to roads by iron tyres on bullock carts, other animaUdrawn vehicles and hand-eperated carts.
