MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE WEEKLY A 1 FETING Tlio weekly meeting of the management committee of the Opotiki Rugby Union, was held ou Monday night,. Air. T. Hickey being in the chair. Other delegates present were: Alessrs. W. AlicOiillough, E. Chapman, S. •■Sotheran, T. Black, M. Delamere and the secretary (Air. D. Bennett). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward correspondence! approved. Inward correspondence was dealt with. The recommendation from the annual meeting t-liat a grading committee should be formed was considered!. The limits of list. 121 b. weight, and 23 years of age for junior players were tentatively set, the delegates to bring these limits before the notice of their respective clubs aiid report back to the management committee at the following meeting. Club Footballs:—After a discussion on the question of teams having no footballs oil the field, Air. T. Hickey moved and Air. AlcCuliougli seconded, that all teams when they meet oil t-lip fields must have a ball, failure to produce a ball toi result in a loss of points.—Carried. An application for the- use of file grounds for a primary schools tournament on June 3rd. was received.---The matter was left over for a future
meeting. Veterans’. Match'.—Air. AlcCuliougli moved and Air. J. Black seconded, that this match be played next Saturday, provided that teams were arranged. ' It was decided 1 to leave the . matter of seven a-side primary school games until later in the season. Deputation.—Alessrs. Sotheran and AlcCuliougli were appointed to represent the Rugby Union at tlie meeting of sports bodies with the Borough Council on Thursday night. A request, for a match at Opotiki was received from Omaio and it was decided toi reply stating that such a match could not be arranged. School Footballs.—lt was resolved to purchase a number of school footballs, these to "be forwarded to schools making application for same. secretary was instructed to poinU out to the various clubs that affiliation fees are: Seniors £2 2s, juniors £1 Is, third grade !2s 6d. Tees must be paid by 3rd. June, otherwise the teams would be disquali-'. fied. , It was resolved that a member of tli 3 committee should be on the ground each Saturday to assist the’ secretary. > , - ■Starting of Games. —It was decided that junior games commence at 1.30 p.m. and seniors at 2.45 p,nv. each Saturday, arid! that games couilncilce strictly to time. - ’ Mr. Sotheran moved and Air.
