The lamb competition played on the Opotiki Citizen’s Club’s green resulted! in a win Tor the following rink: O’Connor, Bodman, Chat-field, Creaglu. A progressive pairs tournament was played on tlie Citizen's green, on. Easter Monday, the result being:—-Win-ning leads : Nosworthy and Madsou.Winning skips: Frew and Griffiths. -■ In the Citizen’s Club’s president’s pairs semi-final Bowles and Foy 22 beat Shaw and! Borrie- 20.. Other games played on the Citizen’sgreen resulted : „ Whifielcl, Payne, Chatfield 23 v. Webb, Madd'ren, Mansell 7.. Noswothy, Frew,-J. Tabb, Craig 12 v. O. Tabb. C. GISBORNE TOURNAMENT Two teams from the Opotiki Bowling Glub took part in' the Burton Cup bowls tournament held at Gisborne during the Easter holidays. The members of the teams were:— G. S. Moody, J. T. Clark, G. Hathaway, F. J. Short (skip). M. O. Kidd, R, A. Hedley, G. Dawson, C. Gordon (skip). Sth. round; Short 26 beat Falconer 21. Bth. round: Short 20 beat Crawford 18. Gordon’s Team.—lst. round : 3ferry (Taneatua) 28 beat Gordon 17. 2nd. round; 25 beat iSomerveil 23. 3rd. round: Jenkins 31 beat Gordon 16.. Sth. round; Gordon 27 beat Molony 6.6th. round: Ritchie 25 beat Gordon 22, Gordon 27, beat Campbell 16. Sth. round!; Gordon 29 beat Pyke 9. 9th. round: Sinclair 14 beat Gordon. 12. At the close of section -play two Gisborne teams led the A. section, with 7 wins and 2 losses, while three teams, including Short’s had 6 wins and 3 losses. Two Gisborne teams lead in the B. section with 7 wins and 2 losses, while Sinclair (Gisborne) lead in the C. section with 8 wins and 1 loss. Gordon’s team was in fourth position with .4 wins and 5 losses.
