FORTNJCIHTLY PIC SA'LE EFFECTS OF DRY WEATHER Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report- having held their usual fortnightly pig sale at- the Opotiki saleyards. on -Monday the 3rd. instant. An average yarding of most classes of pigs came forward, a preponderance of the yarding being .unfinished ihyi.s which have come into the yards oil account of the shortage of feed and the ensuing scarcity of milk. No heavyweight baconers were yarded but medium baconers made to £3 2s, others, £2 19s to £3 Is ;lighter, £2 los to £2 19s; heavy porkers, for an exceptionally . good line account Air. P. Murphy, Wainui. £2 13s; other heavy ■porkers. £2 6s tot £2 11s; lighter, £-1 15s to £2 ss. Large store pigs wore not keenly sought after, many pens selling from 28s to 345; others, £1 to £l. 7s;, slips, 10s 6d to 18s 6d; wcaners were net yarded at all. The New Zealand! Loan and Alor-c-a utile Agency -Do. Ltd. report ns follows : Wo had a full yarding of pigs iu all classes with the exception of good heavy baconers. Fat pigs -sold at late rates. Stores and slips were in poor demand. ’ Prices realised were : Alodium prime baconers. £3ls to £3 ss; lighter baconers. £2 los to £3; heavy porkers, £2 10s to £2 14s; medium porkers, £2 to £2 8s ; light porkers. 31s to 395; heavy store pigs, 26,s to ’32s; light store pigs, 18s to 28s; slips, 7s 6d to 1-1 s; choppers, heavy, to £3 13s; choppers, lighter, 31s to £2 los.
