RFjTUR'N FROM OAAIP SEVER AL PR OAIOIUONS ’ ’The local territorials returned from the annual camp at Papakura last. Saturday after an interesting week under canvas. The highlight of the week was a trip to Silverdale on Thursday, where the troops bivouacecL for the night and at dawn next day made an attack upon a supposed enemy force. The trip to Silverdale wasmade in buses, the 70 miles being; travelled in about three hours. The following promotions weremade in camp:— 2nd., Lieut. J. P. Alack ay to lieutenant. Lieut. Maelcay also won the* junior officers efficiency Cup. : L/Sergt. R'. G. Parkinson to sergeant. L/Cpl’s J. Bridge. AV. J. Armstrong and Pte. R. Forbes to corporal. Pte’s. AV: Carey ancPß.. Parkinson to lance-corporal. The promotion of Roy Forbes to> Corporal is interesting. The four sons of .Air. and Airs. A. Forbes of Otara have now been promoted N.CLO’s in the Hnuraki Regiment, This is a very good record for one* familv.
