O.D.H.S. ANNUAL TESTS - ■ ■ ■ • < V : 4. — CERTIFICATES AWARDED The pupils of the Opotiki D.H.S. recently undertook swimming tests, the following distances being recorded. The. tests for the special swimming certificates were as fallowsl. Swim breast stroke in clothes 30 yards. 2. Swim back stroke in clothes 30 yards. 3. Swim free style in clothes 30 yai'ds. 4, Undress in the water. 5 Swim 200 yards. 67 Pick up an - object from the bottom of the pool 1.6 feet of water). 7. Show ability to dive. The tests for the special life saving certificates >vere : —l. Perform land drills for 5 methods of rescue and 3 methods of release. 2. Swim 50 yards breast .stroke % 3. Swim 50 yai'ds on back without or arms. 4. Perform in. the Three methods of release. (b) 2ncT. or 3rd. method of release, (c)' 'Any*'two other methods of release not taken in 4b.
