J. I. Thompson’s residence last- Thursday afternoon. There was a good attendance. and an enjoyable time was spent in competitions and social chat. A special feature was an interesting and instructive address given by Dr. Aiail on how to treat the common accidents and ailments of every-day life, such as burns, cuts, nose-bleeding, croup, etc., for which he was heartily thanked. Afternoon tea was served on the spacious verandah. Good business was done at the cake and produce stalls. The use of the grounds of Airs. J. T. Thompson, the hostess, was greatly appreciated by tlie Luion.
