MISSION SCHOOL-UHILD R 1 AY ENTERTAINED \ A very happy day was spent recent-, ly, at Hukuwai beach, when the Busy Bees of St. John’s Hive, Opotiki. entertained the Maori children from Ta~ uatana and Matulii Missions Schoolsat a picnic. The entertainment of these children has been a missionary work, undertaken by the Busy Beesfrom the time of their inception in Opotiki ten years ago. For the pastseven years- it has taken the form of a picnic to the beach. After lunch, held in Mr.,-Petersen’s grounds, tliechildren busied themselves in building, sand-castles and -motor-cars, for thebest of which, ' prizes- were givenRaces were then held, and prizes pre - sented. After , more- game.s, a return 1 was made to Air. -Petersen’s for afterfit* 9 noon tea; the Maori boysentertained With a/’haka. On leaving, each,child, was given®an apple and a bag of sweets.
