BEATEN BY TEAR CAS Two women used tomahawks recently to defend their Los Angeles home against Federal officers. The officersused tear gas and won the light. The women were Anna. Mrs. Barnett’s marriage lias been invalidated by the court hut she has steadfastly refused to leave her pretty cottage. She has defied! court- and Government orders for mouths. Gutted States Marshal Boh Clarke* and several deputies closed in while Mrs. Barnett was feeding chickens. She dropped her grain pans and rushed upstairs, locking the- doors. 'Then she and her daughter began hurling tomahawks at- the “invaders”.. But the tear nas beat them.
