STATE '-FUBHCATION * 20,00 ft COPIES PROMISED HALE FOR; GISBORNE M uch inter. has been aroused in Gisborne regarding the prospects of the district’s scenic beauties being advertised to overseas people likely to visit the Dominion, and the Chamber of Commerce has encouraged the publication of'publicity booklets and holder’s.

A review of the year's operations in this respect is given in the annual report of the chamber, the report reviewing a past effort and also one which is expected to appear shortly. The Government Tourist Department offered to print and publish 20,000 copies of a, Gisborne publicity folder, free of cost, and suggested that the chamber should show its appreciation of the offer by payment of £2-5 for a further 10,000 folders for distribution by the Gisborne public to New Zealand and overseas friends, and thereby further adding to the publicity benefit, the report, stated. The offer was thankfully accepted. The sum of €25 was duly sent to the Tourist Devartment and 10.000 copies are expected to arrive in Gisborne shortly, when our chamber members will he invited to distribute the folders to Gisborne people who will post them to friends overseas and in New Zealand.
