Blind Since Boyhood. Deprived oi' his sight at the age of eight through meeting with an accident ]\lr. ltobert Ayson has died at Toiro, Otago, iii Jus ninetieth year. Horn in the Highlands oi Scotland, he went to Otago in 18-33. Notwithstanding the less of his sight, .Mr. Ayson gained an incredible knowledge of the countryside and was able to travel in any part of the Clntha district unaided. His blindness had no effect whatever upon his character, and he was always of a most cheerful and happy disposition. .Possessed of a line baritone voice, he was prominent at social gatherings, his specialty being Scottish songs.
