She was accompanied by Miss Dorothy Hedlo. who has resumed her studies at th.i Auckland Diocesan School after spending the summer vacation with her parents in Opotiki. LOOSE DANCE AT WOODLANDS . A large and enthusiastic band ol dancers attended the dance organised by the members ol the Manchester Unity Lodge and held in the AY oodia nils Hall on Wednesday night. Weather conditions were ideal for dancing and no detail had been overlooked to< ensure the success ol the function and the enjoyment ol all present. The recently-formed orchestra comprising Boy Parkes and bis Bbythm Ildys lias ipiicklv gained tim popularity of the dancing public and was in splendid form oil this occasion rendering a popular programme ol new numbers. Air. B. Lynch capably carried) out the duties ol ALU. Air. Hoy Parkes was announced the winner ol a competition and “Two Smokers” shared- in the prize Irr a handsome bos: ol chocolates. Novelty dances were won by Aliss I*. Crappe mid Air. J. Kelly and Aliss D. Hinton ami Air. A. Fleming. A dainty supper was served by the ladies and dancing was resumed until the early hours.
