OPOTfKI COMPETITIONS TWO MATCHES PLAYED Two matches were played during the week-end, one Otara v. Old Collegians and the other City v. Woodlands. In the former match Collegians batting -'first and playing two men short, '"made 150: Wells 50, Smith 20, T. itellyi IS and R. Ball 1(3 being the placers to reach double figures. Otara ’replied with 74, E. Brown 14 and R Manby 13 being the oidyviones to'-malce a stand. Following on, Otara close of play had 9 wickets doWn/’for 113: Chambers required 34, ,N. Brown 22, R. Manby retired 21 and, G. Been, 21 not iotit be-’ ing the principal fcordrs. Collegians won oh; the first innings. In The Cityv. ,AVtxyllands i. Jnntch city batting'first and playing one man short, scored 102. .Henry was top scorer with 33. Woodlands replied with a total of 80, Pipe 28 and Jones 2’3 being the principal run-getters. City had lost 7 wickets for 71 when they declared, Murray 22 not out bo.ing top scorer.
