They were accompanied by Mrs. Hnyman’s brother, Mr. Norton, who recently arrived from Canada. While in Opotiki they were the guests of Mr. and Airs. M. Hennessv, Woodlands.

DANCE AT WOODLANDS The young men conducted' the usual fortnightly dance held at AYoodlands Hall on Friday night. There was the usual large attendance. these functions being very popular with both young and old. A popular programme cf dances was played by Air. J. Mannix a nd Mr. T. Davis contributed extras on the piano-accordeon. The duties of AI.C. were capably carried out by Air. Sturdy. Novelty dances were won by Mrs. G. F. Powell and Air. A. Hodgson, Aliss J- Maxwell and -Miss D. Henderson and Airs. S. Alaxwell and Mr. J. Vercoe. A travelling parcel competition was keenly contested, the winner being Aliss Ngaire Abbot wlio was the recipient of a handsome box of chocolates as a birthday gift.
