EAST COAST PROVINCE

CENTENNIAL BOUNDARY The boundaries of all provincial districts of New Zealand are set out in the latest Gazette. This is done to "comply with the provisions ot the New Zealand Centennial Act, 11)38. The East Coast provincial district is specified as being: “All that area bounded toward the north and east by the sea from the westernmost corner of Matakaoa County to Paritu; thence towards the south-west by Wairoa. County and towards the north-west by Opotild to the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated-therein, and all adjacent islands.”
