HAPPY SOCIAL EVENING In view of their approaching marriage. Miss Kathleen Hickey and -Mr. .Li. Dennett were the guests of honour at a happy social evening held recently at the home of -Mr. and Airs. B. Parkinson. Kvidence of the popularity of the young couple was given by the large attendance of well-wish-ers who appreciated this opportunity of honouring them. A very happy atmosphere prevailed, the evening being spent in games and dancing. -Music was supplied by Airs. J. Williams. Air. C. Carruthers and Air. J. Alexander. Novelty dances were won by Miss J. Dalgleish and -Mr. L. Dennett and Aliss Al. Parkinson and Air. J. Alexander. During the evening. Air. B. Alulheni. on behalf of those present called upon the guests of honour to accept the many dainty and useful gilts which had been brought by those present. Air. Mulhem spoke of the popularity of Aliss Hickey and -Mr. Dennett and extended the .good wishes of all present for their future happiness and success. Air. Dennett thanked those- present for the charming gifts and the expressions of good will extended. Smilax creeper sCi-cened . the verandah where a dainty ' and refreshing slipper was served. DANCE AT TOATOA •(Toatoa Correspondent.) A very pleasant time was spent at Toatoa last week, when a dance was held in the Toatoa Hall. Mr. Roy Parlies supplied the music with an enjoyable extra by Airs. MAlunro. A chocolate waltz was won by Air. and Airs. F. Stirling.
