John Black recently when her grand-daughter, the 1 infant daughter of Air. and Airs. Keith Oolien, of Auckland, was christened Lianne. Rev. A. C. Hampton officiated and after the ceremony, members, of the family celebrated .the occasion, the handsome christening cake, charmingly decorated, holding ■jjlace of honour. Aliss G. Black, the infant's aunt, was present, being one of the god-mothers, other god-parents being in Auckland.
i DANCE AT WAIQTAHI HELD BY HALL COAIAIJ.TTEE A very successful and enjoyable' dance organised by the members of the Waiotahi Hall Committee," was held on Wednesday night. The large attendance included many visitors and a very happy evening was enjoyed. Music was supplied by the Kleetrotone Orchestra, many new and popular numbers being played. Included iu the programme was the new Palais Glide and other new dances, in which all present were quick to join. Air. Brian Wilson was an efficient AI.C. Novelty dances were won by Aliss M.
