THE FILIAL DAY

The final game in the tournament was played on Wednesday, between the two teams representing the Tauranga Club—Hartley, Steele, .MeF'arlane, Tamblyn (skip) and Woods, Stonehouse, Roseveare and Washer (skip). The section play was completed on Wednesday afternoon, Tamblyn winning Section one with seven wins and one loss and Washer winning Section two, also, with one loss only.

Had both teams been beaten in the final game in the section play it would have brought in Sweetman (Te Puke) in Section 1 with two losses, and Loane (Whakatane) and Kidd (Opotiki) in Section IT, each with two Josses. However, the ties were avoided, and so it was left to the two Tanranga Club teams to fight out the tinal yesterday morning.
