DANCE PATRONS,
“SIT OUT” IN CfcLURCtt 1. Church Life, the publication of St. John’s Parish, Dannevirke, conducted ~bythe viear,'tho Rev. G. B. Stephenson, contains, the following in its last issue:— “I’ve been locking the front doors of the church lately—and it’s sad that I’ve needed to doi it. lor four weeks running when there was a dance , at a nearby hall, young people had evidently used the church for ‘sitting out’ —this: W(i* evidenced' by, little piles of cigarette butts. AYe were, not able to catch them—L suppose they came in very late—so 1 thought it better to lock the'front doors. Of course there is. ai risk of fire—but I’m deeply concerned that people would use the church in this wav. It shows an fitter disregard for God and for the people who love His house. I just wish that the police could have caught them—and given them the fright they deserved.”
