V. CENERAL MEETING PHEASANTS’ EGGS ARRIVE A general mooting of members of the Opotiki Hod and Gun Club was hold in Mr. J. It. Whitfield's rooms on Friday night, Mr. J. A. MicCaldon, president, occupying the chair. Tile, secretary, Air. G. L. Day, announced that 170 pheasants’ eggs have been received for {distribution. Those roaring pheasants Ayili be supplied with nujnbercdi rings, so that when birds are shot they may be identified. A prize will be. donated, to the most successful' rearer. In view of the annual conference and dinner being held in Opotiki. on Juno 5 and 0, it was decided to hold a 2da.v shoot in conjunction. On tlio first day a £SO prize will he offered, while' a ;C25 prize will he offered on. the second day. .The next shoot will lie held on February 12, when the hig prize will be £2O and the Black and' White Cup will also he competed lor.

Two trophies for aggregate points for the season valued at £2 2s and £1 IS' will he presented. It was umioun-eecj that the base lor the automatic trap is due to arrive shortly.
