PLASTICINE: FOP SCHOOL AXXU AL, RKQVISIT ION .More than two tons of plasticine ter modelling will he distributed at the beginning of next year among the primary schools of the Wellington distract. Every year the Wellington Education Hoard sends list of its requirements to the Education Department, and next year’s requisition includes the following ■ Plasticine (coloured), li tons; plasticine (plain) ;] ton.
Ha ml world materials are all ordered on this huge scale as there are 213 schools with an average roll number of db,Hi!) pupils to he supplied.
Almost a ton ot clildk has been ordered for 11)30'. hut net all of this is for the use'of teachers. The chalk arrives in 2401 b. cases, and nine of these are now reposing in the 1 hoard’s office, .waiting to lie unpacked for distribution to. the schools. Cardboard is another expensive item. Five hundred packets of one size have been ordered and 4!),)i of another size, each packet containing 72 pieces. In addition, there are IKK) sheets of cardboard and 10,000 pieces each of the 2£in. x l.Jin. and the ljin. x 1 in. sizes.
.Included in the requisition are the following: 55,(KX) coloured heads; 200 bottles of ticket-writing ink; 2S(,’O packets of glazed and coloured paper squares; 10,000 brusliwork hooks; 10,000 drawing books; 50,000' black pastel sheets; 2001 b. of gum nrabie; 000 lb. oi raffia; 3501 b. of 4-ply dbiiblcknitting wool; 000 square yards of canvas; 43 dozen tube's of'seeetine; and ](XX dozen reels of coloured adhesive tape.
