Ltd- report ns follows on the fortnightly pig sale held in the Opotiki saleyards on Monday: A very large yarding came to hand and all lines were sold under the hammer at priees more than eompilruhle with schedule. Outside buyers were operating and were able to purchase many lines, whilst the Opotiki Bacon Company whs a source .“of strength in the bidding. Store nigs were very keenly sought after and vendors were more than satisfied with the prices paid. We quote the, following prices:— Ikiconers. to £3 8s; others, £3 Is to £3 ss; lighter, £2 Its to £3 ; porkers, heavy and prime, to £2 11s; others, £2 4s to £2. Sis; light, £1 15s to £2 3s; large stores, to £2 2s; others, £1 15s to £2; slips, 28s to 32s (id; weaners, an especially good line from Air. K. Thompson of Waioeka made 2S)s; others, 23s to 28s; small J7s to 225; a. maiden sow with*a litter of ]] sold at the very satisfactory figure ol £l. Tin* New Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency, Co. Ltd. report as follows : We had a full yarding in all classes, and report keen competition throughout.. According to schedule ba< oners and porkers show a decline on late rates, hut all other classes were very linn. Geod slips and weaners showed an advance oil the previous sale.
