LONDON, Aug. 27.—When a wife was accused at Stratford (London) Police Court of stealing £2OO worth of furniture belonging to' her husband she said she bought a large part of it with money she saved. The clerk asked her: “1 suppose you saved from the money given you for housekeeping by your husband, and think it is yours?” She replied that she did. The clerk: ”1 thought so. Most women think the same, hut you are all wrong. It belongs to the husband.o It was a matter for. a civil court, the magistrates decided, and the theft charge was dismissed .
