CARNIVAL DANCE AT WAIOEKA

Ideal dancing conditions and a popular* programme which included many novelties attracted a large attendance at the Carnival Flannel Dance held in the Waioeka Hall last night. The function was arranged by the Hall .Committee who spared no effort in ensuring the enjoyment of all who attended. Music was supplied by the popular Rloetrotono Orchestra who featured several new and -popular numbers. An extra was played by Mr. J. McDonald. Messrs. I. Ban and D. Bennett carried out the duties of M.C. in an efficient manner. \ aliens competitions held throughout the evening met with a happy spirit ol friendly rivalry. Miss M. Du Pontet and Mr. W. Payne were the successful competitors in the waltzing and a “lucky confetti” dance was won hy Miss A- Lammas, A Monte Carlo dance was won by -Miss L. Mead and Air. J. Redpath and Mrs. Al. Lovell and Mr. I). Bennett were announced as the winners of two other competitions. A dainty supper was served by the ladies and dancing was resumed until the early hours.
