HAY OK PLENTY £4.UU> The Presbyterian New Zealand ( ontenary Thanksgiving I* mid Campaign to raise £300.1500 by 1010 is making good progress. It was recently announced that over L IoC'.OOO m promises and cash had been recorded at the Dominion central office. The N .Z. Central committee budgeted the various Presbyteries o! the Dominion lor the amount. The Hay of Plenty Presbytery, oi which Air. J. H. (tow is cinurmnn and Air. Alec Sutherland , vice-clmt‘.'man was budgeted tor £4001.. ( onsidorablo local satisfaction is felt in that already promises and cash to date total over 04000. and then 1 is still some ground to cover. Active committees at Taurang i le Pukc, Rangitaiki Plains. Whakatane. Taiieatiia and Opotiki iound a ready and generous response from Proshtterian families. As a rule vlie promise was for a definite sum i () oe givcii in three payments in the successive years 11)3*, 1030. 1.1)40. The general object of the 1 'I haitksgiving. is for elimination of ail Church debt and to provide a forward Hum <-f £IOO.OOO. Cash already paid (represt nting a third) in one congregation amounts to over £4OO. This is in Opotiki.
