VALEDICTORY HANOI-: AT TOATOA A very pleasant dance was held in tlie Toatoa hall on Tuesday evening the occasion being to bid iarewell to David Starky. who is shortly leaving New Zealand to join the Air Force in England. Splendid music was supplied' by -Mr. It. Parkes, while several enjoyable extras were played by Mr. t it. lard ley anil Mrs. Starky. A .Monte Carlo was won by -Miss 15. Haskell and 31 r. T. McDonald. After a most dainty supper had been partaken of, Mr. f Ken Walker took the opportunity of presenting David with a handsome leather suitcase, from his friends at Toatoa. David thanked all for the gift which he greatly appreciated. All joined in singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”- Dancing .was then continued until 12.30 a.m. when a very pleasant evening came to a close, by all joining bands and singing “Auld Lang* Syne”. Among those present were Mrs. T. Stott. Mrs. Geo. Brown, Mrs. F. Starky. Mrs. R. Jones, Mrs. Ron. Yard ley. Mrs. .M. Munro, MrsF. Stirling. .Miss 15. Haskell, .Miss M. Adams. Miss N. Beid, .Miss M.
