Those present, numbering about thirty, included relatives and mein hers of the staff of Alessrs. Reid Bros. The evening was spent in playing cards and competitions, the winners of which were Mrs. C. Anderson, Mrs- Harding, Air. F. W. Bold, Mr. ’l'. Clark and Mr. J. Cooke. Community singing was also popular throughout the evening. A sumptuous supper was served alter which -Mr. C. Anderson, on Itch nil' ol the memhers of the stall', presented Air. and Airs. Reid with a charming gilt <Vf pottery statuettes representing a French boy and-girl. Mr. Anderson spoke ol the happy association which existed between Alessrs. Reid Bros, and the members ol their staff, and expressed the pleasure it gave them to assemble and have the opportunity of extending their good wishes to Air. and Airs. Reitl for their future happiness- Other members of the staff endorsed Air. Anderson’s remarks and the presentation was accorded musical honours. Mrs. Dill presented Mrs. Reid with » charming bouquet-. Air. .Reid thanked the speakers for their good wishes and Mr. and Mrs. Hill and the members ol the stall lor the very happy evening which they had enjoyed.
