BOWLING

THE CITIZENS’ CLUB OPENING OF SEASON The Opotiki Citizens’ Bowling Club commenced their season last Saturday in fine weather, when a large number of bowlers from the district assembled for the opening ceremony. The president, Mi'. S. M. Jephson, in opening the green, expressed tin 1 hope that all present would enjoy their games and trusted that the season Would be'a successful one with many keen games. Mrs. E. J. Burton then threw the Jack, and -Mr. J. Foy. foundation and life member, drew a howl to Kitty. The president then declared the green open for the 1938-39 season amidst. applause.
