CLYDESDALE COLT FOR OPOTIKI
.Mr. J. T. Raid, of Opctiki, lias just acquired an outstanding clydosuule coit lroin the South Island. This is the rising lour-year-oltl dark bay cult, Jnglcmere Gay l.ad. A very afa active looking horse, inglcmero Gay Tad promises to develop into a horse of great power and weight, tie already stands 17 hands high. I p to the present lie has not been shown, hut, as lie lias the right class of hone, his hair is ol grand quality and he has the true action oi a high class Clydosdale, he should make a name for himself in the showrings. His full aster, which is still owned by the nrevder, Mr. Davit! Caldwell, of Edondaie, lias not yet been beaten and Mir. Caldwell is said to have refused blip guineas for her. Ingleinere Gay Lad. was pur-' chased for Mr. Paul through the agency of Messrs. Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd. from the present owners, Nicolson Bros., of Hampden, Otago. He is a. very well bred horse as be is a son of that great breeding horse, Scotland’s Superb (imp.) while his dam, Ingleinere Rosebud, is by another very successful imported breeding sire in Myroe Footprint. Mares by the latter horse are proving wonderful matrons in the South, it being generally conceded; that they rank in this respect with the daughters of the great Baron Bold. In addition to being from a most successful Colonial family, .Ingleinere Gay; Lad carries the very best ol imported blood, his grandam, Ingleinere Joss, being by another very successful imported sire in Silver Crest. As all his lino have been noted workers as well as grand breeding stock, the importation of this young stallion into the Bay of Plenty should prove a very decided acquisition.
