F.P NIGHT LY PIC SA LE DISAPPOINTING NAPPING Messrs. Dalgety and Company Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale at the Opotiik saleyards on Monday, when a very disappointing yarding of pigs came forward. Quality pigs were very scarce, the continued dry weather being responsible for the many unfinished pigs which were yarded. Buyers from outside were present but were not very keen as the bulk of the baconers yarded were an unattractive lot. We quote the following prices which ruled throughout the sale. Baconers, heavy, to £3 9s; lighter, £3 to £3 7s; unfinished, £2 10s to £3; porkers, heavy and good quality to £2 15s; lighter, £2 8s to £2 12s; large stores, to £2 3s; slips, 295; weaners, £1 to £1 6s 6d. The'New Zealand; Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows : We had an average yarding of pigs in all classes, which sold well under good competition. Stores and slips were keenly competed; lor and we report a sharp advance on late rates. Prices realised were,: — Heavy baconers, £3 3s to £3 6s; medium baconers, £3 to £3 2s; heavy porkers, £2 7s to £2 11s; lighter porkers £2 2s to £2 ss; large stores, 37s to £2 Is; smaller stores, 30s to 355; good slips,- 25s Od to '3ls; good weaners,.. tp~24s; smaller sorts, to 18s Od-
