OPOTIKI CITIZENS’ C.LUB .SEASON OPENED Ideal weather was experienced tor the opening of the Citizens’ Croquet ■Club last- week, when Airs. T. G. Johnson. president of the dub. welcomed a very large number of members and friends and six new members, wishing all luck for the coming season. Airs. Johnson then played * the liiM ball through the hoop and declared the green open for play. She was presented with a beautiful bouquet by Airs. A. El. PayneAn enjoyable afternoon of competitions and games had been arranged and Airs. G. Aladdren proved the winner of the hitting-the-peg competition. A ladder croquet competition was won by Airs. Burgess while Airs. Guthrie was the winner of a crazy croquet- competition. The hoops points competition was won by Airs. G’. AlaclcTren. During the afternoon a dainty home-made afternoon tea was served liv members of the club.
