WAIOTAHI MONTHLY MEETING* 'v ■ I •jc ■ \ : The monthly .mating of the Waiotahi Women’s institute was held on October 12th., Mrs. Os White presiding. After the reading of the aspirations, Mrs. Leishman gave a comprehensive report on the council meeting at Wailiuma. A most interesting letter from the Institute’s link at Hensall in Canada was read. Mrs. T. Burke gave a humorous reading which was much enjoyed. The making of wool rugs was demonstrated by Mrs. C. J. Hollard and Mrs. A. Hollard "of Woodlands and several beautifully finished designs were displayed. A hearty vote, of thanks was accorded the demonstrators- A game of musical parcels was won by Mrs. Hollard. the music being provided by Mrs. Johnson. Competitions for the) afternoon were as follows: | Best bowl of (A) Flowering Shrubs.— Mrs. O. White 1, Mrs. VL. V. Looney 2. (B) Spring Flowers.—Mrs. W. L. Looney 1. Mrs. Snell 2Best Bloom.—M'rs. L. The judges were Mrs. Torn Brown and Mrs. Isaac Walker. The winner was Mrs. Andrews, who gave, her recipe. A good deal of time was occupied with a discussion to d#with the design for tlie banner which will be worked l by members. Suggestions for novel articles suitable for sale at Christmas time were also made.
