'WEEK-END SHOOT ' The local members of the Hauraki Regimelit commenced their annual musketty course during the week-end under jjihe supervision of Sgt.-Major Patterson of Rotorua. The standard of shooting was excellent and the best scores to date are as follows (possible'' 115) Capt. C. jl). Brown :... .t.. 109 Pte. : B. H Parkinson 109 Sgt. 11. Cl. Parkinson 99 Lieut, J. G. Mackay 95 A cup has been presented for the best shqt in the Opctik Platoon of the Hauraki Regiment. "With three more men to shoot Pte. B. H. Parkinson is in the lead. Lieut'. J. G- Mackay leaves on Friday for Trentham for a special advanced course of military training. For this course only four were selected from the Auckland province. The course is for a fortnight and cm braces the duties of a;staff captain' intelligence officer, etc. Mr Mackay is to be congratulated on being one of the four selected.
