The nickname, which, all will agree "is an appropriate one, is “Tiwaiwaka,” spelt. • •'Tiianiikg’’ in some other Maori districts in the Dominion. ’ Asking what the name meant, Mr Hultquist was informed that iif was the Maori name for fantail. “Why fantail?”, said All* Hultquist. “We11,. - because tho fantail flits from place to place, and is never still, and that is. just like you,” was the reply. “You S are always flying over your electorate trying to find out what your electors heed.” i ‘ it was : suggested to Mr Hultquist, who was quite interested, that the name was a tribute to liis energy and activity on behalf of liis constituents.
