COMMITTEE MEETING j GFFICIA LS APPOINTED The president, Mr T- G. Johnson, presided over a meeting of tne committee of tiie Opotiki Boxing Association,'when tiie following were present: -Messrs T. N. Hill (treasurer), H. Parkinson, C. Morris, J. Mansell, B. Mulhern, J. O’‘Sullivan jnr., V. Mulhern, T. Hickey (secretary). It was resolved that two delegates represent- the association at the annual meeting oi the New Zealand Boxing Association, to be held at Gisborne during the championships there; delegates to be appointed from committeemen who are available to make the visit. Present indications are that quite a number of members will be attending on one of the nights of the championships. A financial statement of the lasttourney as read by the treasurer, was received. Approximately £49 profit was shown on the present season's operations to date- Accounts totalling £sl 14s/ 5d were passed for payment. The action of the secretary in nominating Mr J. O’Sullivan jnr., as referee at the New Zealand championships at Gisborne on September 15, 16, 17, was endorsed. All committeemen were requested to attend a working bee on Wednesday afternoon September 7, to erect the ring etc. The following officials were appointed for next week’s tourney:— Referee, Mr J. O’Sullivan jnr. Judges, Messrs J. O. Sullivan sm\, G. Murray, S. Jeplisoii. Announcer, Mr C. Morris. Time-keepers, Messrs T. G. Johnson, S. Jephson, G. Murray. Glove and Call Steward, Mr Robert Black. Clerk of Scales, Mr P. Chambers; assistant, Mr R. Fleming. Official Seconds, Messrs Cl Rix, A. Alder, K. Fleming. Doorkeepers, Messrs J. Mansell, C. Tnbb, T. Henry, W. Frew, S. T. Keen. Match Committee, Messrs T. Hickey, B. Mulhern, V. Mulhern, G. Lysaghfc. Members’| Stand, Mr Hi Parkinson. Admission charges were fixed at: Ringside 7/6, 3 rows upstairs 4/6, “lounge seats 5/6, rest of house 3/-, ladies *2/6 (tax inclusive on all charges). Ringside, lounge and 4/6 seats, tickets on sale at Tim Hiek,ey’s. It was decided to open the doors at 7.15 li .m-
