TOMMY FARR
GO MING WORLD CHAMPION
MANAGER’S BELIEF
Joe Gould, the man who made Jim JBraddock a world champion, and now manager :of Tommy. Farr believes that the British heavyweight will yet become world champion. “1 know ho has lost his last three lights,” Joe told The People. ‘'But he will be world champion before he's through with lighting. “He wants another- ygar in the States, sharpening up his style, and then yen’ll see. Nobody knows how really good Tommy is going to he. “Moreover, he’s the gamest heavyweight and the finest loser who has ever come to America. Despite his defeats he is liked better now than ever. “Three world champions lie fought in the States. Ho went after them as though he had never heard their names. “Joe Louis might have been Bill Jones for all the care Tommy showed when ho met the so-called ‘killer.’
“.Max Baer .... well. Alaxie was one of the greatest, and the night he fought Farr he was as good as ever. Tommy fought stupid that night, but as we had only hitched up 10 days before 1 could do nothing. “Had ho not gone all out for a knock-out right from the start he would have won. Baer’s as tough as teak, and Farr had no chance that way.
“Jim Braddoek beat Farr as well . . . dear old Jim. He won all right. I said so then, and 1 say so now. Tommy was kidded that Jim was nob so hot; hut he was a good, solid lighter with tons of pluck, 1 can toll you. “It’s the way Farr lost those fights that has made him a hero in - the States. “There’s plenty of dough for him over there, and I’m telling you, the world title later on.”
