The new line was well under way. and the poles had been erected from Arapuni . to about Xgongatnha. New Electrical Wiring. At yesterday’s meting of the Bay of Plenty Eilectric Power Board., the engineer-manager. Mr Dicker, referred to a new type of electric cable,, which ’ eliminated conduiting. in installation work. The new cable could be> procured with any number oi wires in the core. This new method of wiring had been used at the W hakatane Paper Mills for the first time in New Zealand and in some respects liad advantages over the conduiting. He thought- the new method would he an advantage in dairy sheds and would save a good deal ol servicing. He stated that a motor had been installed at the Opotiki factory with the new cable and the work had been done in about a. quarter of the time that would have boon taken by the old method. He was endeavouring to procure enough of the cable to do about ’2O dairy sheds as a trial.
